Reading your analytics

Every scan and every chat message is recorded the moment it happens. Here's what the analytics view shows and how to make sense of it.

What we track

  • Total scans and unique scans over time.
  • Approximate location (country, region, city), derived from the scanner's IP.
  • Device type and operating system.
  • Referrer, where one is available.

For codes with an AI chat agent, you also get chat-level metrics: total chat sessions, messages per session, and the agents your scanners interacted with.

Reading the dashboard

Open any code to see its scan timeline, a breakdown by location and device, and your most active periods. Filter by date range to focus on a campaign or a single event. Codes with AI chat show an additional chat-sessions panel so you can see how people are engaging with the agent.

Privacy

We never collect the personal identity of the person scanning. IP addresses are hashed on ingest, so location is approximate and anonymous — only metadata is retained.

Exporting and the API

Export analytics for any code, or pull the same data programmatically through the ScanAspect API to feed your own dashboards. Scan events, chat sessions, and message logs are all available as JSON endpoints.
